STAI - Membership
STAI offers membership in following categories :
Patron
Any persons of eminence and status connected with sugar industry, who contributes the prescribed amount to the funds of the Association shall be eligible to be a Patron of the Association and shall be declared a Patron after the approval of the Council

Companion
Companion members shall be persons, joint stock companies or firms who are connected with sugar industry and whose admission, in the opinion of the Council, would be conducive to the interest of the Association.

SME
SME will be registered companies connected with sugar and allied industries and whose admission in opinion of the Council would be conducive to the interest of the Association. SME member will have similar rights as any other member except to contest or vote in the General elections of the Association.

Fellow
A Fellow shall be person, who had been an Associate Member of STAI for a minimum period of 10 years and has also held a responsible position. A Fellow shall also be a person who is a graduate and has contributed significantly or held responsible position for 10 years in the sugar industry or sugar institutes duly evaluated by the STAI Council.

Associate
An Associate shall be a person who is atleast 21 years of age and holds a bachelor degree or diploma in a relevant branch of Engineering/Technology/Science/Agriculture from a recognized institution in India or abroad or any other body approved for this purpose by the Council. Besides this individual should have 3 or 5 years experience in sugar or allied industry in case of degree or diploma qualification respectively. However, no experience will be required for postgraduate degree/diploma holders in Sugar Technology/Sugar Engineering/Science/Agriculture

Student
A student member shall be a person who is at least 18 years of age and who is receiving technical training in sugar technology, sugar engineering or sugarcane agriculture or equivalent discipline in a recognized institution in India or abroad.
